Your Abel Tasman Experience begins with taking an Aqua Taxi north to the golden expanse of Onetahuti beach to discover New Zealand Fur Seals and little Blue Penguins at Tonga Island Marine Reserve. Paddle south with the breeze to Bark Bay, exploring sculptured granite headlands, tidal lagoons (tide dependant). After lunch your walking guide will provide you with stories of Maori and European settlers, and the natural history of this picturesque area as you walk through the native forest. You will stop at a number of significant spots and learn about flora and fauna. It is very likely you will see the New Zealand Piwakawaka (fantail). Return to Marahau by Aqua Taxi.
